Blut Aus Nord, "What Once Was... Liber I" LP

The latest from this most amazing French black metal horde. Kind of a new direction for them, incorporating some death metal vibes into their typical atmospheric black metal sound. Tis amazing, if you ask me. Get it here.

Aldrlag, "Demo": CD

Amazing demo of black metal from Oregon. The production on this is a real force, and adds to the intensity of the music, which is great to begin with. Check out the myspace, or look here, and then show support by buying one of the limited handmade demos by emailing aldrlag@live.com.

A Minority of One "Prime" LP

Old rituals now trapped on vinyl. On the amazing Autumn Wind Productions.

Holy freezing shit. One of the coldest black metal experiences ever. Legendary stuff reissued on CD. Die.

Alkerdeel "De Speenzalvinge"

Belgian bruisers are back. New CD on the always incredible At War With False Noise!

Draugluin "Theozoology"

Always nice to see new shit from Draugluin (say it in a metal voice! Arggghhh). This tape, and shitloads more available here.

Bludgeon Hounds

The older heads will dig this one. The Bludgeon Hounds were the greatest (ONLY) band from my old home town, and their epic technical thrash blew minds in a sweaty garage for a few years in the late 80's-early 90's. Their shit is now on youtube and hopefully we will soon see a proper release of some of the rare tapes that only the band has (rehearsals/demos).

Dead Raven Choir "Schmerzensgewalt"

The final missive of black noise hell from Smolken, who is moving on to a life of fat beats and hot chicks. Farewell. I will miss the ear shred tactics. Here's his words...

"Just to finish this up, this chapter of my musical life 100% closed today. I played my last gig with Południca last night. Aurora Borealis released the final Dead Raven Choir album today. There was a bit more delay at the end as the pressing plant thought the master was bad because it was all noise, and the label had to convince them that no, it's supposed to sound like that. A fittingly comedic ending."
