The Phantom Carriage, New Thing

30+ minutes of raw aggression, played through various styles to come to an end result that is not only fierce and chaotic, but experimental enough to maintain the interesting and otherworldly vibe that is heard from the opening of the album. It took me a few listens to get into this, but I'm finding it quite remarkable now. The Phantom Carriage certainly know how to bring the intensity, and they do it in an intelligent and adventurous way, fusing screamo, mathcore, jazz, and metal. They've got a good sound that you won't hear elsewhere. The album is out now on Throatruiner Records. Available for free download or pay-what-you-want at the label's Bandcamp page, and available for purchase from their Bigcartel store.

I'm liking this. At once instance, you think its going to become gimmicky, but they bring it back in immediately. Good stuff for sure!
