New Vinyl Titles from Pesanta

Our good friend Adam at Pesanta has four new titles going up for sale on the Pesanta website today around 10 A.M. Pacific Time (or 1 P.M. here in the East). The first, which you see above, is the vinyl pressing of Hail's Frozen Grave demo from 2009. That CDr of this was limited to 30 copies, so if you're not one of the lucky few to have this, now is the time to grab it. It, like all of the Hail demos, is seriously amazing music. Ambient, experimental black metal, with touches of folk, noise, and other ritualistic types of music. This has to be listened to and experienced in order to start to understand what's going on, so naturally, my words do little justice to what you'll hear on this record. The double LP will be available in several color combinations, and the jacket will feature silver-foil printing on a very heavyweight matte cardboard stock. The release will include an art and information 7" booklet. The record also features laser etched centers with miniature metallic silver center labels. Sounds amazing, obviously. The art and packaging will go nicely with the recording. This is not something you'll want to miss.

Next is the self-titled album of majestic neofolk from Wreathes, which features members of Burial Hex and Kinit Her. Also pressed on heavyweight vinyl, in deluxe gatefold packaging. I've posted a sample below, and you can click the band link above to hear more samples. I think you'll understand why Pesanta is calling this "potentially the best thing to happen to American neofolk in years." Absolutely essential.

What you see here is the split 7" from Hell and Thou. One song from each band, and if you frequent this site, you know what to expect. This release is being released by not only Pesanta, but by Gilead Media as well. White vinyl, white labels, white on white double sided embossed folding jacket and embossed obi strip. This features two of the heaviest bands on the planet, so don't miss it.

While I'm on the topic of Gilead, head over there to grab represses of the Barghest and False LPs, if you missed them the first time around. Grab the Dead Weight 2xDVD as well; I'll have more on that once I get a chance to watch it.

Last but not least is some more bone-crunching, life-crushing doom of the highest caliber, this time from the likes of Kentucky's Highgate and Quebec's Ghast. This is also a 7", limited to 500 copies - 177 of which are on red splatter vinyl, with 323 on black. Heavy vinyl with an insert.

All of these titles will begin shipping in May (these are NOT preorders - they are on hand now) but as I stated above, can be ordered today. If by chance you're going to be at the now sold out Gilead Media Music Fest this coming weekend, they can be had there too. Look for me while you're there. I'll be there and would be pleased to meet you, as long as you're not an asshole, and maybe even if you are.
