False/Barghest Split LP, Mutilation Rites LP

Two bands that played at the Gilead Media Music Fest back in the Spring (they both killed, by the way) have come together to record a new split LP for Gilead, and pre-orders are up now. Two Barghest tracks, and one long False track, for a total of about 35 minutes. The Barghest tracks see them at their old tricks- "Shifting Sands" is one of their oldest songs, but sounds very fresh here, while "Inhuman Hatred" conjures up an old death metal vibe. It is one of the more destructive and caustic things the band has recorded, and that seriously says a lot. The False track, "Heavy as a Church Tower" in indeed that heavy, and is honestly my favorite False song. When they played this at Gilead Fest, my jaw was dropped open the whole time. False's set was as intense as just about any live band I've seen, and this song really, really impressed. The recorded version on this LP is synth-laden and just outstanding. The LP is pressed on 180 gram black vinyl, in heavy 24 pt jackets, and includes a 24" x 36" poster, with artwork from the excellent Bryan Proteau of Natvres Mortes Illvstration. You can stream the album here. Just imagine how awesome this will sound on wax... I'm practically salivating.

You should really do yourself a favor and see False on their US tour, which starts August 31st and runs through October 8th. The dates are below at the bottom of this post.

Also available now from Gilead Media is the vinyl edition of Mutilation Rites' first album for Prosthetic Records, Empyrean. Catchy, thrashing, crusty black metal with riffs that you will find stuck in your head for days at a time. 180 gram black vinyl with a black inner sleeve packaged in an old-style Stoughton tip-on jacket, with artwork by Reuben Sawyer of Rainbath Visual. These songs can be streamed now here.

Order both of these now from our good friend Adam at Gilead Media.
